Where Windows 10 stores default email app in its registry? This is the caption of the original question. Default email app in Windows 10 is an App which handles mailto: protocol. It's actually not supposed to open Inbox, but Write a New Email form - by opening a new page/window to start writing an email. In the registry editor, browse to the following location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SOFTWARE Clients Mail; Right click on the Mail key and select Export option for exporting a backup copy. Save the copy for backup at the desired location. Right click on Mail key, click on New and select Key; Create a new key with the name Outlook64Bridge.
Hi,
I have a windows 7 64 bit computer with Outlook 2007 installed as a part of Office small business 2007. When i right click on a picture and click on sent to--> Mail recipient, nothing happens. I was hoping Outlook windows to open with the picture as an attachment. I tried the same with a text document file on my desktop.
The weird thing is it works when i keep my Outlook open. When Outlook is closed and if i try to perform the above task it will create a process called Outlook.exe in the task manager. But nothing happens. I have removed the add ins from OUtlook thinking that they may conflict. Removed the add in keys from the registry as well.
I made sure that Outlook i my default e-mail client from the default programs and from Outlook.
It works fine in my Windows XP desktop. Is it a glitch in the Windows 7 ?
